Baghdad – IHEC confirms campaign start in October as voter registration closes ahead of Iraq’s 2025 parliamentary elections. On Monday, the Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) clarified several key points about the upcoming vote.

Moreover, IHEC addressed the issue of minority representation. Zayer stated that the number of seats for minorities would remain unchanged. The current election law already defines the allocations, and no modifications are under consideration.

Looking ahead, Iraq plans to hold its next parliamentary elections on November 11, 2025. The date marks a significant milestone in the country’s democratic process. The commission continues its efforts to ensure transparency and strong voter participation.
