Art Reflects Iraq’s Cultural Strength

President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid visited the Ministry of Culture to open a major art exhibition. This important event showcased artwork that represents Iraq’s cultural strength and historical depth. During the visit, he held a meeting with Minister of Culture Ahmed Fakak Al-Badrani and other senior officials.

The President toured the exhibition and viewed a wide variety of artistic pieces. These works highlighted the country’s diverse heritage, social unity, and prominent figures in literature and politics. Each piece offered insight into Iraq’s evolving identity and creative legacy.

The President emphasized the need for artists to reflect the truth about Iraq’s progress. He encouraged them to present themes of peace, development, and coexistence. According to him, Iraqi art must express the people’s dreams and promote a united vision.

During the meeting, President Rashid spoke about the Ministry’s duty to strengthen Iraq’s cultural role both locally and globally. He noted that promoting Iraq’s cultural strength can boost tourism and improve the country’s international image. Iraq’s recent role as host of an Arab summit and its selection as the tourism capital were key milestones in this effort.

He also underlined the importance of educating future generations about past crimes. These include the atrocities of the former regime such as the Halabja bombing, Anfal campaign, and the discovery of mass graves. The President called for clear narratives that document these painful histories, especially in the face of past terrorist violence against holy and historic sites.

In response, the Minister of Culture shared updates on ministry projects. He outlined plans aimed at promoting Iraq’s cultural strength and artistic excellence on global stages. These initiatives aim to honor the country’s legacy while encouraging new creative growth.

The exhibition serves as a clear reminder of Iraq’s cultural strength. Through art, Iraqis can share their story, celebrate resilience, and inspire unity.
